Try their app and web page, to see if there is a setting where you can request they change your modem's assigned IP address (I doubt it, but try). I think people tried even getting a brand new modem, or factory reset (wipes everything), doubt any of that works. Other than that the obvious easy answer is VPN. 1.

Comcast residential Internet service uses dynamic IP addresses. The router setting might be Dynamic, Auto, DHCP, or something similar. Static IPs are not available with their residential service, only Business Class. PPPoE is primarily a DSL protocol which Comcast doesn't use. ( edited)

I have a laptop and a PC on a Windows 10 home network via the ARRIS TG862G Router supplied to me by xfinity. My network is very unstable. One or the other of my computers will vanish from the network, sometimes for days or weeks at a time. A BBS friend has suggested that I try setting up static IP addresses for the laptop and PC.
