Picked this up years ago when I was piecing together an M110 clone. Prices now are too outrageous for me to continue. Would like to pass this guy on. Agreed. Attempting to build a clone of a newly selected special weapon at this time is an insane undertaking. Access to OEM parts is going to be a zero sum game. Parts like flash hiders and hand guards might not reach the commercial market for years. Rock River Arms makes a rifle called the LAR-8. The LAR-8 lowers and rifles use the cheaper FN/FAL rifle magazines. That might be one item you may want to think about incorporating into your SASS clone. That way you can use a good .308 rifle with decent magazines that don't cost $40 each. Kind of a good idea.

Mine came with the palmetto branded metal mags (that looks great). I have not had the feeding issues that ppl (like trex arms) have mentioned. But I did notice that palmetto swapped to magpul mags even fkr the .308 m110 clone for a while. Not sure if theyre still shipping it with pmags. I've also had no issues with pmags. Depending on how clone correct you're going, you are dependent on using a KAC M110 flash hider, gas block, and URX II rail. The two former are basically required to mount a M110 suppressor.
